Capstone Project: Twerps vs. Towers

Twerps vs. Towers is a full start-to-finish group video game project over the course of 4 months.

Goal

Create a full game from start to finish

Overview

Project Hephaestus, as it was called throughout the duration of the project, was a 4-month long group project between myself and five other team members. We went from the initial concept to release on ich.io.

Breakdown

Overview

For our capstone project, we wanted to do something a little different. Pretty quickly, we all decided to create a tower defense-style game. However, we wanted to add a little twist story-wise. Most tower defense games we have seen that have been released all had a common theme. The player is the “hero,” and the baddies are the ones attacking your base.  So we decided to mix it up. What if you, the player, were instead the baddie, and you had to protect your base from the “heroes” that are out questing and adventuring? Throughout the project, many things either changed or were cut. However, the main premise behind the game always stayed the same. This project was done in Unreal Engine 5, and completely with Unreal Blueprints.
